With the Pebble Beach Concours D' Elegance coming up, many manufacturers are coming up with somewhat insane one-off versions of their cars for the week. New cars or new models are also usually released at Pebble Beach. Here are the ones we're most excited about.This article outlines the best of the best that we are coming to expect from the 2024 Monterey Car week, and we'll kick things off with the offering from Rimac. The Even-More-Extreme 2025 Rimac Nevera A wealthy individual who is purportedly the owner of a Pininfarina Battista has commissioned the coachbuilder to make a more extreme version of the Nevera. According to Auto Express, the Croatian manufacturer may unveil this new model on August 12. The anticipation is fueled by Rimac's recent Instagram activity, where all past posts were deleted, hinting at a significant announcement. We're expecting to see enhancements to its already formidable 1,914 PS powertrain. Fun fact: "Nevera" comes from the Croatian for "Storm."The Honda HP-X, which gave rise to the legendary NS-X, will also debut at the 2024 Monterey Car Week. Rimac is probably looking to maintain or boost customer interest in the Nevera, of which only 50 out of the planned 150 units have been sold in the past two years. T This new model follows the precedent set by the 2023 Time Attack variant, a track-focused edition limited to 12 units. The Pininfarina Teaser at the 2024 Monterey Car Week Pininfarina's Teased Creation Pininfarina has teased a one-of-one coach-built creation, set to be revealed at the 2024 Monterey Car Week. A wealthy individual who is purportedly the owner of a Pininfarina Battista has commissioned the coachbuilder to make a more extreme version of the Battista. Pininfarina has teased this creation with a couple of posts on social media and via their newsroom. From the loose and vague images teased online by the marquee, we weren't able to glean much from the image. Details about the coach or the chassis have not been revealed by the manufacturer either. The Italian carmaker is calling this car “The Ultimate future collectible”. With a nearly century-long legacy in coach-building, Pininfarina is expected to unveil something extraordinary. The new creation might share the Battista’s electric hypercar chassis, originally from Rimac’s Nevera. Last year, Pininfarina introduced the B95 speedster at Monterey, limited to 10 units, featuring the same 1,874-hp powertrain as the Battista.This year's reveal promises an even more exclusive one-off vehicle for a North American collector. As with every Pininfarina, anticipation is high for something both powerful and aesthetically remarkable. The Honda HP-X, that gave rise to the legendary NS-X will also debut at the 2024 Monterey Car Week. Honda's Retrograde Concept Not to be outdone, Honda is bringing a blast from the past as their entry to the 2024 Monterey Car Week. The dorito-shaped car is from the 80s and is dubbed the HP-X. However, the interesting thing about this one, other than its looks, is that it was designed by Pininfarina.Another key factor about this car is that it laid the groundwork and foundations upon which another very important car would be built: The Honda NSX.The HP-X was more than a styling exercise; it tested new materials like honeycomb panels, carbon fiber, and Kevlar, as well as early GPS and sonar-based systems. Honda’s ambition in the early '80s, bolstered by its Formula 1 entry, was to rival Europe’s best without compromising reliability.The Dorito car will be participating in the prototypes-class and wedge-shaped concept car class at the Concours. A Maserati at the 2022 Monterey Car Week. What's the trident got in store for 2024? Maserati's Hardcore MC20 Maserati is set to unveil a new version of its MC20 supercar at this month's The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, during the 2024 Monterey Car Week. Drawing lessons from the MC20-based GT2 race car, this new variant is designed to be both high-performing and street-legal. The teaser image reveals a front fender with vents similar to the GT2 race car, hinting at advanced aerodynamics.The new model will likely feature the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine, producing 621 hp in the regular MC20 and up to 730 hp in the limited-edition MCXtrema track car. Customization options will be available for buyers, though details remain under wraps.Maserati will also use the event for the North American debut of the MC20 Icona special edition. Just a glimpse of what we'll see at the 2024 Monterey Car Week. The New 2025 BMW M5 Touring BMW is also going to unveil the new M5 Touring at the 2024 Monterey Car Week on August 15 at Pebble Beach. This super wagon, a 2025 model, will be available in the U.S., following the new M5 sedan's debut in June. The sedan, priced at $120,675, starts deliveries later this year, while the M5 Touring will begin deliveries next spring. The new M5 Touring, the third M5 wagon after the E34 and E60 models, will be the first sold in the U.S. It shares its powertrain with the sedan: a plug-in hybrid setup with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 and an integrated electric motor. This combination delivers 717 hp, allowing for 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph. As for competitors, the M5 Touring stands alone with no direct rivals since Mercedes-Benz AMG's E 63 Wagon is no longer available, and Audi's RS 6 Avant is being phased out. One of these will be the GT-UV Design Study concept, reflecting Karma's Comet Line design language and likely a sleek crossover. The second debut might be the production version of the Kaveya sports car. Karma, emerging from the former Fisker Automotive, continues to innovate with high-performance EVs. The Kaveya, expected to start sales in 2026 with up to 1,180 hp, has been showcased as a concept. Additionally, the Gyesera sedan, due for sale later this year, features a 120-kwh battery and 590 hp, priced from $175,000.
