1. The Fourth of Koenigsegg’s legendary hypercars Ever since 2002, Koenigsegg has revolutionised the way we view Swedish cars. Previously when we thought of Swedish motors, we thought of a beige Volvo or Saab Estate being driven around by either an architect or a Geography Teacher. But then along came the CC with its maniac styling, scissors doors, gun-ho performance and terrifying handling, which totally changed the status quo for Sweden. A missile for the road and the only car faster was the 1000 horsepower Bugatti Veyron. Following the CC came the Agera, a car that broke many speed and acceleration records, even surpassing Bugatti’s top speed record. Following that came the Regera, a hybrid hypercar like no other, with a revolutionary Battery connected to its twin-turbo V8. It also broke records before its eventual retirement in 2022. Now Koenigsegg’s future lies in their latest masterpiece. The Jesko, is available in two forms, the Absolut designed for top-speed runs and the Attack, designed to crush the world’s race tracks. 2. Specialised Names for a Special Car Christian Von Koenigsegg wanted his latest hypercar to be truly special. And nowhere is that more seen in its name. Normally hypercars names relate back to some significant race or exotic wind or founder. But the Jesko is in fact the name of Koenigsegg’s father, the man who got him into design and car racing. That makes this hypercar all the more personal to the founder. But equally special is that this Jesko Attack is called the Odin. Odin was the fierce god of war and death, the father of the Norse God of Thunder (and Marvel Superhero) Thor. Certainly, it’s a name designed to strike fear in its rivals, much like the Jesko does. 3. A Spectacular Design: Collaboration with LMM The Jesko Attack truly is an outrageous car to behold. With its low-slung stance, scissor doors and enormous rear wing. The ‘Odin’ in particular showcases fully exposed “naked carbon” that is not only visually appealing but also light and strong. The result is that it weighs just 1.3 tonnes. In addition the ‘Odin’ is adorned with gold flakes and a real gold leaf finish, creating a striking contrast that catches the light beautifully. Accents such as the Slingshot Stripe and Apex Stripe enhance this aggressiveness. In addition the Odin benefits from design details by British design house LMM Design. They meticulously ensure each of the design elements on the Odin is perfected for both its striking stance and speed. 4. A Striking Interior The cabin of the Jesko Attack Odin is certainly quite the place to behold. It’s finished in Desiato Alcantara, a material that combines elegance with comfort. Every detail, from the seats to the dashboard, is finished in a bespoke gold stitching. In addition, Gold trim on climate control vents and pedals adds a touch of sophistication, and Exposed carbon elements complement the gold accents. Certainly a special place for the driver to sit in but this car isn’t just all show and no go. 5. Horsepower of war All supercars are made by their powerhouse engines and the Jesko Attack is no exception. Behind the two-seat cabin sits a bespoke 5.1L twin-turbocharged V8, the same unit used in the outgoing Agera. However, the engine has been reworked with a flat-plane crankshaft, two twenty-litre air tanks and an electric compressor. The result was a monstrous 1280 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, all being sent to the rear wheels. However, fill the car up with specialised E85 fuel and the Attack will produce 1600 horsepower and 1106 lb-ft of torque. 6. 9-Speed Multi-clutch Transmission Aids in Incredible Performance Most supercars today use 8 or 9-speed dual-clutch transmissions. But the Jesko Attack once again is purely bespoke. It features a 9-speed Multi-Clutch gearbox that allows for instantaneous changes between any gear at near-light speed. Couple this with the 5.1L Twin-Turbo V8 Volcano and the results are blistering. 0-62mph takes just 2.5 seconds and the top speed is a monstrous 310mph. However top speed and 0-62 aren’t the Attack’s strongest points. 7. Ground-Breaking Aerodynamics Unlike most Koenigsegg’s, the Jesko Attack features an enormous rear wing which Koenigsegg say will produce over 1400kg of downforce at its top speed. Unlike most Koenigseggs built to demolish quarter miles, the Jesko Attack is built to demolish race tracks. Which it already has done with records at Gotland and Laguna Seca. 8. A Rare and Exclusive Unit Only 125 Jeskos exist in the world both in Attack and Absolut form each costing north of around $3 million. The “Odin” however only one has ever been built.
