Lamborghini has collaborated with Japanese artist “Ikeuchi” to create two unique pieces of art to celebrate the Italian automaker’s 60th anniversary in 2023. The first is an art car named the Lamborghini Huracan STO Time Chaser_111100, which features Ikeuchi’s signature cybernetic aesthetic and the binary code for 60 in its name.
The second is a sculpture named the “Time Gazer”, built using original Lamborghini parts to represent the evolution of the Lamborghini through the lens of time and timelessness. Both works will be on display in Tokyo.
Time Gazer
The “Time Gazer” is a significant artwork created using authentic Lamborghini parts that symbolizes the concept of time and timelessness through the lens of Lamborghini’s evolution. The sculpture represents a large-scale art piece that encapsulates Ikeuchi’s vision of the past, present, and future.
The project aims to explore the common themes shared by Lamborghini and Ikeuchi, with a focus on time and its influence on Lamborghini’s development over the years.
The Huracan STO Time Chaser 111100
Japanese artist Ikeuchi’s distinct styling choices for the Lamborghini Huracán STO Time Chaser_111100 art car take inspiration from “cyberpunk” and “robot anime”. The overall design of the car remains largely unchanged in the front, with some additional graphics added below the headlights and on the center of the hood.
However, at the back, Ikeuchi mounts a box with colorful elements inside, resembling computer graphics cards. The design of this module is reminiscent of cyberpunk and robot anime, which are sources of inspiration for Ikeuchi.
Interestingly, Ikeuchi has left the drivetrain of the STO untouched, which means that the car’s lightweight body (1,339kg, around 43kg lighter than a regular Huracán) packs a powerful 5.2-liter V10 engine that delivers 631 horsepower and 416 lb-ft of torque, along with significant downforce.
