Ford introduced the seventh generation Mustang for the 2024 model year. They continue to power the new Mustang with an internal combustion engine. This decision has extended the era of the gas-powered pony car for another decade or so. This move also paved the way for high-performance muscle cars like the 2024 Roush Mustang. The most powerful stock iteration of the new S650 Mustang is the 500-hp Dark Horse. Above that is the limited edition 830-hp 2024 Shelby Super Snake. However, Shelby will produce only 250 units of the Super Snake. That is where the 2024 Roush Mustang comes into play. The new Roush Mustang is a supercharged pony car with a boosted output of 810 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque. The supercharger kit costs $9,995. It is compatible with both the Mustang GT and Dark Horse. Currently, it is being offered as a limited edition Phase 2 kit. However, we expect other, lower-priced versions to arrive later this year. 2024 Roush Mustang: Upgrades And Features The most prominent upgrade in the 2024 Roush Mustang is the EATON TVS R2650 supercharger. This high-performance supercharger features dual front inlets and an optimized high-flow inlet port. This ensures enhanced airflow capability. The supercharger has an inverted design with dual intercoolers. This results in superior heat transfer and lower intake temperatures. Another addition to the Roush Mustang is a set of high-flow, dual-cone fuel injectors. But, the stock 2x80mm throttle bodies remain unchanged. This maintains symmetry and allows the reuse of stock induction components. Other upgrades include a large front heat exchanger and high-flow Bosch intercooler pump. How Powerful Is The 2024 Roush Mustang? All the upgraded components uplift the output of the Roush Mustang. Powering the stock 2024 Ford Mustang GT and Dark Horse is a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated Coyote V8. This motor comes paired either with a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic. The 2024 Mustang GT outputs a maximum of 480 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. The horsepower number rises to 500 in the Dark Horse, while the torque remains the same. Now for the 2024 Ford Roush Mustang. This monstrous horse cranks out a whopping 810 Horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque. Roush Performance claims a 13 PSI boost at 7,500 RPM. The Roush Mustang adds 330 or 310 horses over the stock models. Torque increases by 215 lb-ft. That is a significant amount of extra vigor for $9,995. Roush developed the kit in partnership with Magnuson Superchargers. They are a brand with more than 50 years of expertise. Remember that the Roush Mustang isn't yet 50-state CARB EO legal. But, it is SEMA-certified emissions compliant. The Roush Mustang comes with a 3-year or 36,000-mile limited parts warranty. Source: Ford, CarScoops
