Today, we'll be looking at the Ferrari SF90 Successor in some of the latest spy footage we have in hand. The Ferrari SF90 Successor has firmly earned its name thanks to the incoming Ferrari model essentially picking up where the glorified SF90 left off. While the SF90 ends its run this year, the Ferrari SF90 Successor is expected to arrive in early 2025. Now, let us, at the outset say that Maranello is rumoured to be working on two projects, an SF90 successor, and a LaFerrari Successor. Matter of fact, in the coming couple of years we expect the entire holy trinity to be replaced and modernized. That said, we cannot confirm whether this car is the SF90 successor, or “Project F250”, which would be the LaFerrari successor (Project F150 was the LaFerrari's internal code name). Either way, the footage we've gotten is cause for great excitement, as most Ferrari launches turn out to be. Earlier this year, we saw the Ferrari 12 Cilindri launch, and we also got confirmed news that Ferrari is working on a pure EV SUV. So, what makes this Ferrari SF90 Successor (or LaFerrari Successor) so special? Well, besides the SF90 nomenclature living on in this new vehicle, the SF90 Successor is going to be Ferrari's main core model for a different type of grand touring performance feel. While the SF90 was about serious speed and performance road-holding, the Ferrari SF90 Successor is being set up to emphasize long-distance grand touring ability. This long-distance touring nature means the SF90 Successor is going to have a rather different persona than its extreme performance predecessor. The Ferrari SF90 Successor will still feature scorching acceleration and chassis tuning, but its different proportions, especially that longer front overhang, set it up to excel at efficient high-speed grand touring.Thus, while the Ferrari SF90 Successor's acceleration and handling will certainly deliver incredible sports car performance numbers, its fuel efficiency and grand touring character will be a selling point. This will allow it to be a more capable all-arounder than the SF90 track edition.While it will offer owners savage track attack ability, the Ferrari SF90 Successor can hopefully bring a more optimized experience as a daily driver than the track-focused SF90. After all, GT touring ability is almost always a more useful performance measure for street-driven sports cars. With the Ferrari SF90 Successor's proportions in mind, the incoming model should complement the extreme performance it promises through its SF90 naming. While we'll have to wait a while to watch the SF90 Successor take shape, this is the type of conversation we can hopefully expect later in the model cycle. So let's patiently await what else Ferrari might be working on in the form of a new lineup staple prospect like it could conceivably create with the SF90 Successor's launch.
