Aston Martin has revealed that their Le Mans Hypercar has hit the track for the first time. Track testing of the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH has officially commenced. Aston Martin Performance Technologies and works team, The Heart of Racing, conjointly developed the Valkyrie AMR-LMH. They completed the initial evaluation testing of the hypercar this week. The Valkyrie AMR-LMH is a hypercar built to compete in multiple championships. On top of Le Mans, it is also intended to partake in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Furthermore, the hypercar would also compete in the IMSA SportsCar Championship. It is the first racing car, built to compete in both of these championships. The Heart Of Racing team will enter two Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH hypercars in WEC. For IMSA in 2025, they will enroll a single contender. A full development program to prepare the car for its FIA homologation is set to start soon. Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH Is A Revolutionary, Race-Optimized Hypercar The Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH is radically different from its road-based sibling. Powering the race car is a Cosworth-built 6.5-liter V12 engine. This screaming modified version of the naturally aspirated motor revs up to 11,000 rpm. The powertrain of the Valkyrie AMR-LMH is devoid of the road car's mild-hybrid system. The power output is a whopping 1,000 hp. Handling all this vigor is a race-optimized carbon fiber chassis. Adam Carter, Aston Martin's Head of Endurance Motorsport, has high hopes for the new race car. His words are as follows. “The Valkyrie AMR-LMH sets its own standard as a thoroughbred endurance competition car. It is a pure, leading-edge racing machine.” He also added that the car is still very early in the testing cycle. Even so, they are satisfied that it is achieving the targets and criteria they set out for it to accomplish. Aston Martin claims that in 2025, they will achieve a unique stature. The brand will become the only manufacturer competing in all levels of sportscar and GT racing. This ranges from Formula 1 to top-level World Endurance and SportsCar Championships.
