To mark 80 years since the Allied landing in Normandy, Bentley has unveiled a special Bentayga EWB Mulliner dedicated to Remembrance Day in the UK. Decorated with 80 poppies rising from a map of northern France, this bespoke vehicle symbolizes lives lost in the D-Day invasion. The car will embark on a commemorative journey across the UK, featuring in the Race of Remembrance in Anglesey as the event’s race car. It will then return to Bentley’s Crewe headquarters on 11 November for an employee tribute ceremony, before concluding its journey on 13 November at the Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire Awards to honor the Armed Forces. A Veteran-Led Tribute for D-Day’s LegacyThe Remembrance Bentayga EWB Mulliner holds particular significance for Bentley’s BeReady network, a group dedicated to supporting veterans and reservists within the company. One of Bentley’s five DEIB initiatives, this network played a pivotal role in the project, working alongside the design team to craft a tribute that honors the sacrifices of soldiers on the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Functional Project Manager and co-chair of the BeReady network James Lynam explained the tribute’s importance: “Remembrance is an important time for the BeReady network and Bentley, a time to reflect on the sacrifices of the Armed Forces. This year, with the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we worked together to create a design that honors the bravery of those who served, capturing the perilous journeys of soldiers in an instantly recognizable, powerful way.” Bentley’s Design Director, Robin Page, added that the vehicle’s design is “a symbol of our collective memory and the sacrifices made by countless individuals.” With every detail, from the poppy motif to the mapping of northern France, Bentley reflects both a deep respect for history and a forward-looking approach to honoring shared heritage.
