The Bugatti Bolide is the French hypercar maker's swansong to their iconic W16 motor. The track-only hypercar recently impressed spectators at Le Mans. It was also an attraction at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed. Bugatti will build only 40 units of this spectacular creation. Currently, some of the first Bugatti Bolide customer cars are being tested on the track. Bugatti is gearing up for the maiden deliveries of their most powerful W16 hypercar. The Bugatti Bolide is an ultra-lightweight hypercar with race-ready underpinnings. Bugatti claims that the Bolide can run a lap around the Nürburgring in 5m 23.1s. This isn't a confirmed figure, but a simulated number. Even so, if it is anything under 6 minutes in real life, that would be a groundbreaking achievement. The Bugatti Bolide relies on the minimal-weight maximum-downforce approach. However, the Bugatti Bolide is different from other hypercars that follow this principle. It adds a massive W16 motor into the equation. The Revolutionary Powerhouse Of The Bugatti Bolide Behind the driver compartment of the Bugatti Bolide is a mighty 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16. This behemoth of an engine puts out a maximum of 1,578 horsepower. Sending power to all four wheels is a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The bodywork inspired by a fighter jet ensures a lower curb weight. The Bugatti Bolide weighs in at only 3,197 lbs (1,240 kg) which is lighter than a 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS. 0-62 (0-100) takes a lighting-fast 2.2 seconds, and the track-only hypercar hits the 124 mph mark in 5.4 seconds. The Bugatti Bolide can reach speeds of 186 mph (300kph) in just 11.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited at 236 mph (380 kph). From 62 mph, the hypercar can come to a halt within a distance of 243 ft (74 m). The Bugatti Bolide is nothing short of an engineering marvel. It is the epitome of what a W16-powered hypercar can be. And now the legendary W16 is being succeeded by a new Cosworth-sourced V16 motor. This new hybrid-assisted engine was unveiled in the all-new Bugatti Tourbillon.
