"We thought about how we could improve its proportions, refine the aerodynamics, and further enhance the driving experience for the customer." Bugatti's Next-Level Powertrain and Platform InnovationFor Bugatti, creating the Tourbillon was more than a fresh start—it was a chance to push hypercar engineering to the next level. The result? A machine that’s as thrilling as it is technically sophisticated, built on a completely new platform designed to outperform anything before it. One of the most significant breakthroughs is the Tourbillon's cutting-edge powertrain – a naturally aspirated V16 engine paired with three electric motors. This hybrid setup offers not just raw power but precise control, giving the car all-wheel drive and torque vectoring that enhances handling in real-time. It’s hypercar performance, with electric precision. Cooling is key for a car of this magnitude. Up front, five of the car’s eight radiators are placed to ensure the engine and electronics stay cool, with airflow managed through Bugatti’s signature horseshoe grille. Central to this new platform is a 24kWh T-shaped battery that delivers 800 horsepower and over 60 km of range in pure electric mode. Positioned at the core of the car, it provides a low center of gravity for exceptional balance and agility, while contributing to the overall structural integrity of the chassis. At the rear, Bugatti has mastered the art of packaging. The V16 engine is brought closer to the driver, and fuel tanks are repositioned to the sides to keep the car’s proportions tight without sacrificing interior space.
