The Tourbillion For the last two decades, Bugatti has made a name for itself in creating the ultimate expression of high-performance engineering. The new Tourbillon is no exception. Dozens of proposed designs that took inspiration from the past were rejected, until they arrived at this sleek yet aerodynamically proficient shape. The shape is achieved via the enormous grill at the front, an active rear diffuser to reduce turbulence, and a carbon fiber chassis. Most notable, though, is the new active rear spoiler that adjusts based on speed to reduce drag. Yet inside is an interior composed of leather, carbon fiber, and exquisite metals that make a Rolex look like a Casio. Primarily powering the Tourbillon is a brand new Cosworth Developed 8.4L Naturally Aspirated V16 which produces 986 horsepower via an 8-speed dual clutch. This unit is directly paired to three electric motors engineered by Rimac that combined produce 789 horsepower. Yet it has a range of 37 miles. Put all this together and you have 1775 horsepower, 277mph, all-wheel drive, carbon fiber constructed bullet that’s predicted 0-62mph in 2 seconds and that produces 1180 lb-ft of torque. Yet Bugatti’s CEO, Mate Rimac, has plans for this car to break the 300mph barrier. It’s no surprise that with such advanced engineering, the highest quality of materials, and record-breaking performance each of the 250 Tourbillons created will cost north of $4 million. It perfectly embodies Bugatti’s philosophy of “Form Follows Performance.” Bugatti Tourbillon's Unveiling in Doha In Qatar’s capital, Doha, at the prestigious Katara Cultural Village, the Tourbillon made its grand debut. Select VIPs and media gathered at the Al Hikman Courtyard to get a close and personal view of this incredible machine. During the week, the Tourbillon also made stops at other key landmarks, such as the Mina District at Doha Port, the vibrant Al Maha Island, and the Zeekret desert. And the decision to showcase the car in Doha is more than to impress the many billionaires looking to gain allocations. "Qatar holds a special place in Bugatti’s journey, embodying a unique mix of history and endless creativity,” said Kostas Psarris, Bugatti’s Regional Director for the Middle East and Asia. A unique mix of history and endless creativity is very much the spirit of Bugatti. Fingers crossed when the first Tourbillon lands in Dubai, we at F1rstMotors will conduct its first official road test. Conclusion: Bugatti’s New Era in the Middle East The Bugatti Tourbillon represents a new chapter in Bugatti's old history. It combines cutting-edge tech with the brand’s hallmark elegance, all while pushing the boundaries of performance. And as it makes its way to the US, the Tourbillon reminds us that we really have reached a peak in the Hypercar world. And that Bugatti as a brand is truly untouchable.
