Ferrari will unveil its first all-electric vehicle in 2025. And they are making huge promises on how they will conceive the first Ferrari EV. According to Autocar, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna has shared some important insights. He confirmed that the Ferrari EV has completed thousands of miles of testing. He also added that he expects the EV to appeal to both existing Ferrari customers and newcomers. Is The Ferrari EV Based On The Maserati Levante? The recent spy shots of what is expected to be the Ferrari EV are reminiscent of the Maserati Levante. Ferrari had earlier used the Levante to test their first SUV, the Ferrari Purosangue. Even so, the car turned out to be worlds apart from the Levante. We expect the same outcome in the case of the Ferrari EV too. But it is the specifics of what the head of the brand mentioned that intrigues us the most. The car we see here features abnormally large exhaust tips. This isn't a characteristic feature of EVs, as they produce no exhaust gases to emit. That is where the probability of other powertrains comes in. In this case, it might be a means to deceive the onlookers' eyes. But, Vigna said that Ferrari will continue to offer IC, hybrid, and electric models. Hence, we can't be sure if an EV-exclusive platform would underpin the Ferrari EV. The Ferrari EV Will Preserve The Iconic Brand's Characteristics Benedetto Vigna said, “when people buy a Ferrari, they have a lot of fun”. He also added that they don't make the purchase for a single reason, and that it is a combination of things. The next statement is what brings the most excitement. Vigna's words were exactly as follows. “When we do electric cars, we will produce them in the right way.” This promise raises the level of expectations for the Ferrari EV. As mentioned earlier, they have already completed a lot of testing. Vigna said that the first clients of their cars are the test drivers. That they drive a lot of cars and can differentiate between one and another. We believe he implied that the Ferrari EV will deliver the definitive Ferrari experience. Ferrari EV: Pricing And Release Date A recent report suggested that the Ferrari EV will be priced at around $500,000. It also mentioned that a second EV is already in the works. However, Vigna has declined to confirm this. He replied, “The way we define the price of a car is one month before we launch it”. The production of the Ferrari EV will happen at the brand's shiny new E-Building at Maranello. Starting 2026, this facility will become Ferrari's new central hub of production.
