What to Expect from Ferrari’s First EV Early prototypes of Ferrari’s EV have been spotted testing around Maranello. Spy shots indicate their First EV will be a fully-fledged SUV, the second following the Purosangue. Rumours suggest that like the Purosangue this car will be ridiculously expensive, with prices starting from $518,000. Ferrari have neither confirmed nor denied these figures but emphasised that their new EV will highlight the quality of revenue over volume. They have also revealed several key factors of their new EV such as: A brand new patented three-motor powertrain capable of delivering exhilarating acceleration. It is expected to feature proprietary electric motors, inverters, and battery technology developed in-house.It will use a more advanced high-performance battery instead of LFPs like most EVs. What this new EV will mean for Ferrari’s future Ferrari couldn’t have chosen a better time to release their new EV. The recent financial success has positioned it well for this bold move with: A 21% increase in profit (€1.53 billion)A 12% rise in revenue (€6.7 billion)A steady shipment increase of 0.7% (13,752 units delivered) The new EV Ferrari will be built in a new E-Building, recently completed in Maranello. This building will be responsible for producing the company’s electric powertrains, including high-voltage batteries and axles. Alongside this, it means the regular Ferrari factory at Maranello will continue to offer the more familiar hybrid and petrol-powered vehicles, we all know and love. All shall be answered on October 9th. Source: Autocar
