What is Icons of Porsche: The Premier Porsche Festival in Dubai “Icons of Porsche” came to fruition in 2021, as a way for Porsche enthusiasts and petrolheads across the Middle East and beyond to come together and celebrate all things Porsche. It’s an event that not only highlights the iconic cars made by Stuttgart’s finest but also celebrates the community, enthusiasts and history of the beloved Weissach manufacturer. It has since seen exceptional growth, drawing more than 27,000 enthusiasts from around the world at its most recent festival in 2023. In just three years, the festival has grown from merely a car meet to a well-rounded experience for art lovers and families. Each festival has included notable features such as live performances, interactive exhibits, and most importantly, gems from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. In addition, famous media companies like Motor1, Gulf News and Emirates Women. 2024 promises to be the biggest and best year for Porsche icons. It will take place at The Slab in the Dubai Design District on November 23rd and 24th, lasting from 4pm to 11pm. Tickets are now on sale, with one-day passes available for just Dhs35 and weekend passes for Dhs50. A Celebration of 50 Years of 911 Turbo As this event celebrates all things Porsche, what better way than to honour one of their most beloved models? We’ve known for a while that 2024 marks 50 years since the much-loved 911 Turbo first came to fruition. So to celebrate, Porsche promises to bring a whole range of Turbos from the 930 to the 992, in a large gathering. Here enthusiasts can see the evolution of what many regard to be the ultimate expression of benchmark performance. In addition, Porsche will be auctioning off a one-of-a-kind variant of the 992 Turbo S called the 911 Turbo Remastered via RM Sotheby's. This stunning car features design elements from all generations of 911 Turbo together into one cohesive art form. The auction will go live on Wednesday 20th and will conclude on Sunday 24th at the Festival. Exclusive Unveils: Representing the Present and Future Of course, it wouldn’t be a motor show without some exciting unveils. For those interested in Porsche’s future, you’ll be delighted to know the Taycan Turbo GT, the firm’s most powerful production car, will be prominently displayed. In addition, the second generation all-electric Macan makes its regional debut, both models showcasing Porsche’s all-electric future. But for us whose blood still burns with petrol screaming at 9000rpm, we’ll be ecstatic to know the latest 992.2 GT3 will make its regional showcase. This naturally aspirated 503 horsepower flat-6 road racer has always been the favourite amongst 911 enthusiasts and petrolheads alike. So be sure to get your cheques ready and wallets out. But most exciting is that Porsche will be unveiling two brand new yet-to-be-revealed models. At present details are vague but we know Porsche has plenty of exciting models in the works. It could be the new all-electric Boxster, the new all-electric Cayenne, the new 992.2 Turbo or fingers crossed, the Mission X hypercar. We need to complete our new Holy Trinity after all.
