The Legacy of the McLaren F1 GTR and Lazante Ltd There’s no denying the McLaren F1 is the greatest hypercar of them all. And even less denying that the F1 GTR is one of the most iconic variants of this incredible hypercar. Ten F1 GTRs were built and they dominated the GT race series in the 90s. Most notably at the 1995 24 Hours of LeMans, an F1 GTR won, run by British Engineering Firm Lazante Ltd. Started by British Engineer Paul Lanzante in 1981, Lazante’s roots were in Motorsport and racing. However since its revitalisation, the company now focuses on creating bespoke road legal variants of McLaren’s legendary hypercars. There projects include an F1 LM, a P1 GT, a P1 Spider and now something very special. Read More The Lanzante McLaren P1 Spider: Taking the roof off McLaren’s legendary hypercar What Will this new Hyper-McLaren Be – The LM30 Lanzante recently teased its upcoming creation, codenamed LM30. A design sketch hints at a three-seater layout with a central driving suggesting a potential follow-up to the F1. However rumours indicate the car will be heavily based on McLaren’s other three seat monster, the Speedtail. This 1036 horsepower hybrid monster is the fastest car McLaren have ever made. With a simply mind blowing top speed of 250mph and the ability to go from 0-186mph in 12.8 seconds, it’s fair to say the Speedtail really does live up to its namesake. Rumours speculate that the Lazante variant will be heavily track-focused, trading the Speedtail’s low-drag design aimed for speed for modifications to make it more of a track monster. Very much a Speedtail GTR. The Perfect Birthday Celebration Unsurprisingly, this exceptionally special British Hypercar will be unveiled at Britain’s Golden Motoring Event, The Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is a perfect venue for unveiling the incredible LM30. And with its unveiling, it will once again prove the high range of Lazante in improving the flawless hypercars at McLaren. Source: Lazante Ltd
