The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is already a beast on the road, but Manhart has made it even more terrifying. Their latest upgrade pushes the 991-gen model to 966hp, all going straight to the rear wheels. That’s over 100bhp more than the Porsche 918 Spyder, which has all-wheel drive for stability. This one doesn’t, making it a serious challenge for even the most experienced drivers. This version is built on the most powerful production 911 ever made. The original GT2 RS had 690bhp from a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six. Manhart took that same engine and squeezed out nearly 1,000bhp. It’s hard to believe that much power is coming from just 3.8 liters. The GT2 RS isn’t on sale anymore, and even the latest 911 Turbo S stops at 641 horsepower. GT3? Just 518 horsepower. Manhart’s upgrade makes those numbers look small. That’s a huge leap from the original 690bhp and 553lb ft, putting it dangerously close to the power of an original Bugatti Veyron. This transformation didn’t happen by accident. Manhart gave the GT2 RS larger TTH turbochargers, a new aluminum intake manifold, and an upgraded charge air cooler. It also features a water intercooler from Manthey Racing. To make everything work smoothly, they retuned the ECU, recalibrated the seven-speed PDK gearbox, and strengthened the clutch to handle all that power. Manhart hasn’t shared exact performance figures yet, but the standard GT2 RS already goes from 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds and hits 211mph. With nearly 1,000bhp on tap, the TR 950 will likely be even quicker. To help control all that speed, it gets KW coilover suspension and Continental SportContact 7 tyres wrapped around 21-/22-inch forged wheels. It keeps the carbon ceramic brakes from the original, making sure it can stop just as well as it goes. Manhart gave the TR 950 a more aggressive look with a wider front splitter, canards (aero flics), and a modified rear diffuser. It also gets carbon fibre body parts like sill extensions and intake inserts. If that’s not enough, there’s an optional Manthey Racing aero kit, just in case you want to take it to the track. There’s no official price yet, but a used GT2 RS is listed at around £285,000, so expect the TR 950 to come with a serious price tag. Source: Manhart
