The New 2025 Land Rover Defender Engine Kicking things off, the new 2025 Land Rover Defender comes with an all-new engine lineup. The base models comes stock with a D250 diesel engine, and the topmost variant in 2025 comes with a P525 engine. Also, the new D350 replaces the outgoing D300 engine in the 2025 Defender, and it is now the most powerful diesel Land Rover Defender engine ever made. We also get a new P300e engine, which is a hybrid version of the P-300 for those who care about that kind of stuff. Also, the beloved P400 is also being replaced by the P425 — it's virtually the same with just a little more oomph for when you need it. The 2025 Land Rover Defender Engine lineup now includes the D250, D350, P300e, P425, and P525. We're in to be spoilt for choice, at least in the engine department, so we can truly say that the new 2025 Land Rover Defender has something for everyone. The New 2025 Land Rover Defender Performance The new 2025 Land Rover Defender offers exceptional performance across the board, which is what we've come to expect. The new defender is expected to perform quite a bit better than the incumbent, though no official figures have been released from the British carmaker yet. For now, we're looking at a slightly lighter car (or one at the same weight), and a more powerful engine. We're also looking at several software and tech advancements. All of these are expected to work together to give you a faster, safer, stronger defender to accompany your every adventure. The New 2025 Land Rover Defender Design This year, the new Land Rover Defender doesn't try to reinvent the wheel. We're looking at a rather similar design, which, truth be told is a bit disappointing. Don't get us wrong — the new 2025 Land Rover Defender still looks great, but we were kind of hoping for a change. A design update, a new exterior feature, a major improvement to the car — something like that. Not that it's a bad car, but with used older variants coming up in the secondary market for about half the sticker, it could become hard to justify the price. However, all that remains to be seen once we get the official numbers in. For now though, if you are considering the new 2025 Land Rover Defender, just know that not much has changed and you're still getting a lot of car-per-dirham for what you pay. Just like the past few years, the new 2025 Land Rover Defender is available in three body styles: 90, 110, and 130. The 110 and 130 are four-door versions, while the 90 is a two-door compact. Also, we get a new special edition in terms of the new 2025 Land Rover Defender design: the Sedona Edition. This 2025 Land Rover Defender design option is exclusive to the P110 variant. It boasts a deep red exterior color, 22's in Gloss Black alloy, matte black front grille, and skid plates. Other than that, it's pretty bog standard and won't be worth the (probably) extortionate asking price. Spend the Sedona edition money on interior and adventure upgrades, if you ask us. The New 2025 Land Rover Defender Interior As usual, the new 2025 Land Rover Defender interior is dull, bland, functional, and boring (all you need, and nothing you do not). But then again, if you wanted a luxury SUV, you would have just bought a BMW or Mercedes. With the new 2025 Land Rover Defender interior, everything is premium, high-quality, and has a purpose. The cabin features a redesigned center console, with faster wireless charging and more storage. The headliners can be specc'd in more colors than before, and you get a couple new trims for the accents. The 2025 Land Rover Defender 130 also introduces the option of Captain Chairs in the second row, providing passengers with individual seating, armrests, and twin cupholders for ultimate comfort and convenience. With the 2025 Land Rover Defender interior upgrade spec, you can also heat or cool the rear row of seats (in the 7-seater versions). The interior overall is quite classic, with loads of room, and with 5 or 7 seats. What's nice is that at least currently, choosing to have the two extra seats is a free upgrade, kind of like on the GT2 RS Clubsport. The headroom hasn't improved if the spec sheet is to be believed, but it was never really a problem to begin with. As we said, the new 2025 Land Rover Defender interior will not hold up to comparison against the GLE or GLS — but it was never intended to. Fewer frills means fewer things sagging, breaking, getting dirty, getting ripped, and so on. And the materials that Land Rover uses will always be high-quality, lasting for decades if you treat them right. With that said, the interior of the new 2025 Defender will probably be quite similar to the incumbent models, but no complaints there. Nothing to write home about, but no complaints nonetheless. The New 2025 Land Rover Defender Options and Upgrades The new 2025 Land Rover Defender offers a simplified range of options and upgrades. The Off-Road Pack, Advanced Off-Road Pack, and Air Suspension Pack do exactly what they say on the tin. The Cold Climate Pack and Tow Pack give the defender a photochromatic, heated windscreen and other quality-of-life extras. Interior options include the Comfort and Convenience Pack, which adds configurable cabin lighting and a front center console refrigerator compartment. The Premium Upgrade Interior Pack brings in leather upholstery, a leather steering wheel, and a gearshift. For those requiring additional seating, the Family Pack and Family Comfort Pack offer third-row seating options with climate control and heated seats. When all is said and done, the 2025 Land Rover Defender will feel equally at home whether traversing Jebel Jais or cruising down Business Bay in Dubai.
