Lamborghini is about to reveal the successor to the Huracán supercar. Here’s what you need to know about this exciting new model. PowertrainThe new model is called the 634 for now. It might be named the Temerario later. This car will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It features a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. This engine delivers 791 horsepower between 9,000 and 9,750 rpm. It also has a flat-plane crankshaft, which means it can rev up to 10,000 rpm. This will make the car sound amazing. PerformanceFlat-plane V-8 engines are special. They rev higher and sound louder than typical V-8 engines. You usually find them in high-performance cars like Ferraris and the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The V-8 in this Lamborghini will have 538 lb-ft of torque from 4,000 to 7,000 rpm. The hybrid system will make sure power delivery is smooth, like a racing engine. Electric MotorsThe Huracán successor will have three electric motors. Two will be at the front, powering the front wheels. The third motor will be between the mid-mounted V-8 and the transmission. This is an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the same as in Lamborghini’s new V-12 supercar, the Revuelto. The rear electric motor will provide 147 horsepower. The car will have some electric driving range, thanks to a 3.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. Design and RevealPrototypes of the 634 hint at a design change from the Huracán.
