The NISMO nameplate is returning to the European market after a 2-year hiatus. Nissan has confirmed that they will launch the UK-spec Ariya NISMO EV soon. The Ariya NISMO is Nissan's first all-electric NISMO model. It wouldn't be as ferocious as the gas-powered NISMO cars. However, it is still a somewhat sporty vehicle. Nissan has promised significant upgrades to the European-spec Ariya NISMO. For starters, the electric crossover flaunts more aggressive bodywork. A gray and back paint scheme completes the NISMO's visual appeal. Nissan Ariya NISMO: Powertrain, Performance And Range How powerful is the Nissan Ariya NISMO? Propelling the potent EV will be a NISMO-tuned version of the Ariya's e-4ORCE AWD powertrain. It consists of two electric motors, one on each axle. The system generates a combined output of 389 horsepower and 600 nm of torque. We expect the Ariya NISMO to run 0-60 in 5.0 seconds. However, Nissan does sell a 430-hp B9 e-4ORCE trim of the Ariya NISMO in Japan. We are unsure if the iconic Japanese brand would launch it in the European market. If that happens, the NISMO EV could turn out to be faster. Furthermore, the NISMO could feature a sportier suspension setup and stronger brakes. On top of that the Ariya boasts a 50-50 weight distribution. The combination of all these elements should result in an engaging driving experience. Regardless of the power output, the NISMO EV will feature an 87-kWh battery pack. This power source is capable of delivering up to 310 miles (499 km) of range. Nissan hasn't revealed the pricing details of the sporty EV yet. We expect the Euro-spec Ariya NISMO to debut at the Formula E Grand Prix in London, on the 21st of July 2024.
