On paper, this should not work. Porsche's Sonderwunsch division, the department that built a one-off 993 Speedster for a single client, that refinished a Carrera GT in a 1970 Le Mans livery, that treats every commission as a serious creative exercise, has just revealed three 911s inspired by Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie from Toy Story. The idea sounds like a marketing stunt. The execution is anything but. The project started at Monterey Car Week in 2024, when Pixar production designer Bob Pauley and creative director Jay Ward approached Porsche with the brief. They had worked together before on the Sally Special, a one-off 911 inspired by Sally Carrera from the Cars franchise that was auctioned for charity. This time, the ambition was bigger. Three cars. Three characters. All unveiled on the red carpet at the world premiere of Toy Story 5. Each one a true Sonderwunsch commission, built over months, full of details that reward the kind of attention these cars genuinely deserve. Buzz Lightyear: 911 GT3 RS The most extreme character gets the most extreme car. The GT3 RS comes with the Weissach Package, forged magnesium wheels, Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes, and a front-axle lift system, the full track arsenal. The exterior is white with green-yellow and lizard green accents running across the fenders, roof, and front lid, directly referencing Buzz's spacesuit. Look closely at the hood louvres, and they have been painted blue, green, and red on the left side to mimic the buttons on the front of Lightyear's suit. The rear wing carries a white and Fire Red striped pattern. The wheels wear custom centre caps bearing a Space Ranger logo drawn by Bob Pauley himself, and the Goodyear tyres have been remoulded as "Lightyear" tyres with custom sidewall lettering. A Buzz Lightyear silhouette sits on the dashboard. The illuminated door sills read "To Infinity and Beyond." Jessie: 911 Targa 4 GTS Producing 532 hp, the Targa 4 GTS is the most elegant of the three, and its headline detail is a paint colour that did not exist before this car. Jessie White Metallic, a white with a pearl overlay, was developed specifically to reference the pearl buttons on Jessie's western shirt. The lower bodywork is painted 944 Cobalt Blue Metallic for her jeans, the upper hood and rear deck in Atacama Yellow with GTS Red curlicues for her shirt. The red Targa roof is her hat, complete with beige piping along the edges. The word "targa" on the Targa bar has been replaced with "Jessie" in the exact same Porsche model designation font. On the front left fender, a horse logo references Bullseye, styled deliberately to evoke the vintage Mobil Pegasus decals seen on classic Porsches. Inside, Dark Night Blue, Bordeaux Red, and Pebble Grey leather share the cabin with denim-look seat centres. A sheriff's badge is embroidered into the headrest. The centre armrest carries a "WR" logo, Woody's Roundup, the fictional TV show Jessie hails from. The door sills illuminate with "YEE HAW!" Woody: 911 Carrera T Woody's car has the most technically interesting paint process of the three. The base is Dark Sea Blue, blended with Golf Blue and white, but the texture is what makes it remarkable. Porsche pressed an actual piece of denim fabric into the wet paint to create a visible denim weave effect on the surface itself. It is not a graphic, not a wrap. It is in the paint. Coffee Black lower panels, an Aurum spoiler lip, and Fire Red door graphics spelling Woody's name complete the exterior. Custom black-and-gold wheels and a Bullseye emblem finish it off. Denim-look seat centres, Speed Yellow inlays with a red checkered pattern referencing Woody's shirt, cowhide floor mats, and "Ride Like the Wind!" door sills complete the picture. On the rear side window, a small Dinoco sticker sits quietly, a nod to the Cars franchise and to the Sally Special that started this whole Porsche-Pixar chapter. All three cars will be sold in the coming weeks as part of a charitable initiative supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the American Red Cross, and Starlight Children's Foundation. Toy Story 5 opens in cinemas on June 19, 2026.
