In early 2024, Porsche enhanced the Taycan lineup with sharper design, increased power, extended range, and improved charging performance. Building on this modernization, the electric sedan family now gains three new models, including an updated Taycan GTS and an all-wheel-drive option for the entry-level sports sedan, marking a first for the base model. With 16 versions across three body styles, all-wheel or rear-wheel drive options, and Porsche E-Performance motors delivering between 300 and 760 kW, the Taycan lineup has reached an unprecedented level of variety and choice. AWD, Sporty GTS Join the Lineup with Fresh UpgradesPorsche’s Taycan family now includes three new models: the Taycan 4 sports sedan, Taycan GTS, and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo. Available to order now and arriving in dealerships in early 2025, these models broaden Porsche’s electric offerings with added power, range, and customization features. The new Taycan GTS is positioned as the sporty benchmark between the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo, while the Taycan 4 sports sedan introduces all-wheel drive to the entry level. These additions come with Porsche’s latest performance upgrades, including a reengineered rear-axle motor delivering up to 80 kW more power, a modified pulse inverter with optimized software, and a next-generation heat pump. Charging and energy recuperation have also seen significant enhancements. At 800-volt DC stations, Taycan models can now charge at up to 320 kW, while recuperation capacity during deceleration reaches a new peak of 400 kW. This boost in efficiency and charging speed positions the Taycan as one of the most advanced electric sports cars available. In terms of customization, Porsche has introduced new color options: Slate Grey Neo and Pale Blue Metallic in the Legends range, and Purple Sky Metallic in the Dreams range, offering even greater personalization. “With the extremely wide-ranging Taycan lineup, we meet a wide range of customer wishes and mobility needs,” says Kevin Giek, Vice President Model Line. “Our three latest innovations exemplify this exceptional breadth.” New GTS with Faster AccelerationPorsche’s Taycan lineup now features two GTS models: a sports sedan and the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo. Both models provide up to 515 kW of overboost power with Launch Control, an increase of 75 kW over previous models. New to the GTS is a push-to-pass function integrated into the Sport Chrono package, which delivers an additional 70 kW boost for 10 seconds at lower speeds, displayed through an animated countdown on the speedometer. These GTS models reach 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, and 0-200 km/h in 10.4 seconds—both faster than their predecessors. The WLTP range has also increased by 120 km, reaching a maximum of 628 km. Unique to the GTS models is a sound profile modeled after the Taycan Turbo S, heightening the driving experience with a deeper, sportier tone. The exterior showcases signature Black and Anthracite Grey details, including high-gloss Black accents on the Sport design front and rear aprons, and Black mirror bases. Standard 20-inch Aero Design wheels and optional 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels are finished exclusively in Anthracite Grey for a distinctive look. Inside, the GTS models incorporate sporty materials from the Taycan Turbo GT, such as Race-Tex upholstery and smooth black leather elements. The Adaptive Sports Seats Plus with 18-way electric adjustment come as standard, and the GT multifunction sports steering wheel, available in black Race-Tex, includes dedicated paddles for the push-to-pass feature and energy recuperation. The optional GTS interior package offers Carmine Red and Slate Grey Neo accents, with the Taycan GTS logo featured across the instrument cluster and power meter. A standard Bose Surround Sound System completes the package, ensuring high-quality audio throughout the cabin. Taycan 4: New AWD Model with 643 km RangeAvailable with two battery options, the Taycan 4 offers up to 300 kW of overboost power with the standard Performance battery and up to 320 kW with the Performance Battery Plus during Launch Control. Range varies accordingly, with up to 559 km from the standard battery and an impressive 643 km from the Performance Battery Plus, making it the longest-range AWD Taycan variant, only 35 km shy of its rear-wheel-drive counterpart. With electric motors on both the front and rear axles, the Taycan 4 enhances driving stability and traction, reaching 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds—two-tenths of a second faster than the rear-wheel-drive Taycan. Porsche’s refined AWD strategy boosts efficiency further by decoupling the front motor when full traction isn’t needed. This motor reactivates instantly during acceleration or recuperation, maximizing energy use without compromising performance. The Taycan 4’s exterior is equipped with 19-inch Taycan aero wheels, black brake calipers, and matrix LED headlights, while standard Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and Adaptive Air Suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) ensure responsive handling. Inside, the Taycan 4 features standard comfort seats with eight-way electric adjustment, partial leather trim in Black or Slate Grey, and a two-tone Black/Chalk Beige option. Additional standard elements include Dark Silver accents, brushed silver aluminum door entry guards, and a multifunction leather sports steering wheel, along with Porsche’s Sound Package Plus for an enhanced audio experience.
