When Porsche launched the Macan EV earlier this year, it was limited to two trims. These were the all-wheel-drive Macan EV 4 and the top-of-the-line Turbo. However, Porsche has finally updated the lineup with two new models. The new base trim is the Macan EV rear-wheel-drive. The next new member is the 4S, positioned between the 4 and Turbo. The new trims of the Macan EV are already available to order. Porsche promises to deliver them to customers in the second half of 2024. Porsche Macan EV Base Rear-Wheel-Drive Powering the new base Macan EV rear-wheel-drive is the same 100kWh battery pack in the Macan 4. However, with the omission of AWD, range has gone up by 17.3 miles (28 km). The Macan EV RWD has a claimed range of 399 miles (641 km) of range, while the Macan EV 4 offers 381 miles (613 km). Along with the rise in range, we also see a fall in performance. Starting with the power output, the new rear-wheel-drive model outputs 335 horsepower. This number rises to 355 hp upon engaging launch control. Even so, it is still 47 horses less than what the AWD Macan EV 4 offers. The loss of torque is also significant. The rear-wheel-drive model generates 415 lb-ft (563 nm), which is 64 lb-ft (86.7 nm) lower. Comparing 0–60 times, the RWD Macan EV is roughly 0.5 seconds slower than its grippier sibling. Top speed is an identical 136 MPH for both the RWD and AWD base models. Now for the pricing, the new Macan EV RWD costs $77,295. This amount includes destination and handling fees. That is a $3,155 slash on the price tag of the all-wheel-drive model. Porsche Macan EV 4S All-Wheel-Drive The next new entrant is the 4S trim, which is a more spirited offering. It comes equipped with the same front electric motor as the lower Macan EV 4 trim. However, the 4S gets a more potent motor on the rear axle. This powerhouse produces a maximum output of 442 horsepower and 479 lb-ft (650 nm). Power climbs to 509 hp with overboost. Turn on launch control and torque rises to 578 lb-ft (784 Nm). On paper, that is some serious vigor. This translates to a whole second faster 0-60 time, compared to the Macan EV 4, marked at 3.9 seconds. Top speed is also higher. The 4 tops off at 136 MPH, while the 4S can reach speeds of up to 149 mph. The 4S commands a price of $86,895 which is 6,445 more than the Macan 4. However, it is still $20,055 cheaper than the range-topping Turbo model. Porsche Macan EV: Other New Options And Packages Along with the addition of the new models, Porsche has also added a slew of new options for the Macan EV. The most prominent one is the new off-road design package. This particular package alters the geometry of the front bumper. This results in an increased approach angle of up to 17.4 degrees. The package could also manage to increase the ground clearance by 10 mm. However, this is possible only in combination with the adaptive air suspension. The air suspension is standard for all except the base RWD model. Combined with the package, this results in a maximum ground clearance of 8.8 inches. The off-road pack also swaps out several exterior elements with distinctive components. These include a different front bumper, side skirts, diffuser, and roof railings. These unique body parts are available either in Vesuvius Gray or in body color. Other novelties include a new Slate Gray color option and new 21-inch off-road alloys. Source: Porsche, Motor1
