The plan is to build five new buildings at The Drive, near Goodwood. One is a large manufacturing warehouse covering 41,620 square meters. That's a lot of space for making luxury cars! They will also add a four-story car park for 1,700 vehicles and other assembly buildings. Plus, they will build a 550-space car park, a new road entry at Roman Road, and reroute a public footpath. Karen Rollings, an officer at the Chichester District Council, says this expansion will bring millions of pounds to the area each year. It means more jobs and growth for local businesses. Rolls-Royce is not just making cars. They are boosting the whole community. Some residents have concerns about traffic noise, especially late at night. The company has planned well. Shift workers will use the new and existing road entries to keep noise down. Trucks will enter from Roman Road and exit via Stane Street. This will reduce truck traffic through nearby areas like Maudlin and Westhampnett. Rolls-Royce also plans to replace a felled oak tree and contribute £183,540 to sustainable transport in the area. This shows they care about the environment and the community. Phase one of this project starts in 2025. It's a sign of Rolls-Royce's commitment to quality and community.
