Blink and you’ll miss it — the new 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS is here.

Now, the name “Porsche” has long been synonymous with excellence in the automotive space, and the 911 has been the flagship for a while now. While limited-run hypercars like the 918 and Carrera GT have come and gone, the 911 has stayed constant over many decades.

And now, the new 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS has been announced, and it’s turning quite a few heads. From the new 2025 Porsche GTS Targa variant, to the engine and top speeds, we have it all in this article.

Let’s take a closer look.

The 2025 992 GTS Engine

Let's start with the heart of the beast: the 2025 911 Carrera Engine. Porsche has taken their already impressive 3.0-liter flat-six and added an electric motor to the mix. The result? A staggering 532 horsepower. That's 150 more than the base new 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera. This engine is quite brand new in terms of its design and hybrid-ness with both a longer bore and longer stroke than the one it is replacing.

However, that electric motor in the 2025 992 hybrid is not a plug-in variant, and there is no clutch interface between the engine and electric motors. This means that you cannot drive the car solely on electric power, so automotive purists can take refuge in that fact. Note that the engine in the new 2025 911 Carrera GTS is not a twin-turbo, but comes with a single turbocharger. The difference? The turbocharger in the new 992 Carrera GTS is electrified, meaning that it can power a 216-cell, 400-volt battery that can then feed power to an electric motor.

Also, to comply with the newer EU emission regulations, the New 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS had to maintain a 14.7:1 air-to-fuel ratio at all speeds. And somehow, the engineers at Porsche A.G. have pulled it off.

Through an eight-speed PDK transmission (dual clutches of course), the new 2025 992 Carrera GTS will zoom from 0 to 60 in just 2.9 seconds. And with a top speed of 194 miles per hour, you’ll whip around the ‘ring almost 9 seconds faster than the previous generation.

That’s right, the new 2025 911 Carrera GTS models are 8.7 seconds faster around the Nordschleife than the incumbent generations. Unfortunately, though you cannot get the 2025 992 Carrera GTS as a manual transmission anymore, because of that hybrid system. But with that said, the new 911 Carrera GTS cars also get several other updates that are not engine-related. Let’s look at the new 911 Carrera GTS design below.

The 2025 992 GTS Design

To begin with, the 2025 992 GTS does get a facelift from last year. The most noticeable is that the indicator lights are now integrated into the headlights at the front.

Additionally, the bottom lip of the front bumper on the new 2025 911 Carrera GTS now has adjustable louvers that can open and close to maximize handling and performance. In the previous models, there was only a horizontal divider, not vertical louvers.

The rear exhaust pipes are also now centered perfectly, not with that slightly odd-looking spaced-apart config that it was rocking last year.

The 2025 Porsche 992 GTS Interior

Moving over to the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS interior, we lose the paddle starter. This instead is replaced by a regular button starter that you can find, even on cars like a Kia Soul. Also, we lost the analog gauge clusters in the 2025 992 Carrera GTS interior, as Porsche wanted to opt for a digital AIO solution instead. However, a plus of this redesign is that all the gauge clusters (digital as they may be) are visible through the top gap of the steering wheel.

You also get carbon fiber inserts on the dashboard above the aircon vents, on the door armrests, and on the center console. Additionally, you do have the no-cost optional upgrade of adding two rear seats to your 2025 992 Carrera GTS. However just bear in mind that this would raise the curb weight of your car, and there is absolutely zero chance of fitting in Porsche’s rear-facing seats on this one.

And in our opinion the sensors for the adaptive cruise control and safety systems on the front just look … hideous. Porsche could certainly have done a better job of covering them up and not making it look like a car with an otherwise flawless design has a day-old zit on its nose.

And with that said, we come to the end of this section about the new 2025 911 Carrera GTS design. Overall, it’s a very good-looking car (is any recent Porsche ugly?). Next up, let's talk about the damage to your wallet.

The 2025 992 Carrera GTS Conclusion

As standard, the 992 GTS rear-wheel drive will cost you about $165,000, and that’s without options. The four-wheel drive upgrade will likely be a few thousand more, and will also add 40 kilograms to the curb weight.

The new 2025 911 Carrera GTS comes standard with a lot of creature comforts like rear-axle steering, a dynamic roll system, and adaptive battery regeneration. Overall, the price hasn’t been hiked in accordance with the feature bump — you get a lot more than what you’re paying for.
